Terms of Use

Last updated: 11 June 2026

1. Who we are

Happr (the "Platform") is operated by WE HUMAN, MB, a company registered in the Republic of Lithuania, EU (registration code: 305711625). References to "Happr", "we", "us" or "our" in these Terms refer to WE HUMAN, MB. Contact: hello@happr.dev.

2. Scope and acceptance

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern access to and use of the Happr website, web application, APIs, and any related services (collectively, the "Platform"). By registering an account, posting a task, submitting work, or otherwise using the Platform you agree to these Terms in full.

If you are using the Platform on behalf of a company or other legal entity you confirm that you have authority to bind that entity to these Terms.

3. Description of the service

Happr is a task-based hiring marketplace. Companies ("Hirers") post paid demo tasks; engineers and developers ("Candidates") complete those tasks and submit their work. Happr facilitates the connection, manages submissions, and may use automated tools to assist with matching and ranking. No employment relationship is created between Happr and any Candidate.

4. Eligibility

  • You must be at least 18 years of age.
  • You must be legally permitted to work in the jurisdiction from which you participate.
  • Candidates must be individual persons; corporate entities may not register as Candidates.
  • Hirers must be registered businesses or have authority to post work on behalf of one.

5. Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your credentials. You must notify us immediately at hello@happr.dev if you suspect any unauthorised use of your account. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that we reasonably suspect of fraudulent activity.

6. Task posting and prize pools (Hirers)

  • Task descriptions must accurately reflect the required work and must not contain unlawful, discriminatory, or misleading content.
  • The prize pool published for a task is binding. Once submissions close and a winner is selected, payment of the stated prize must be made within 14 days.
  • Hirers may top up a prize pool at any time before the submission deadline; reductions after publication are not permitted.
  • Tasks must not constitute a disguised employment relationship, spec-work extraction without genuine hiring intent, or any arrangement that would violate applicable labour law.
  • Platform fees are charged per the current Pricing page and are non-refundable once the task has been published.

7. Submissions and intellectual property (Candidates)

  • By submitting work to a task you confirm that it is your own original work and does not infringe third-party rights.
  • Before a winner is selected: you retain ownership of your submission. Happr is granted a limited licence to display the submission to the relevant Hirer for evaluation purposes.
  • Upon selection as winner: you grant the Hirer an irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use, modify, and incorporate your submission into their products. The scope (assignment vs. licence) is governed by any supplementary agreement between you and the Hirer; in the absence of one, a perpetual exclusive licence is granted.
  • Non-winning submissions remain your property. The Hirer receives no rights to non-winning work.

8. Prohibited conduct

You must not:

  • Submit work that was entirely generated by AI without meaningful human authorship or review, unless the task brief explicitly permits this.
  • Misrepresent your identity, qualifications, or the authorship of your work.
  • Attempt to contact Hirers or Candidates outside the Platform to circumvent fees.
  • Scrape, reverse-engineer, or disrupt the Platform.
  • Post content that is unlawful, defamatory, discriminatory, or violates third-party rights.
  • Engage in any form of bid manipulation, collusion, or coordinated submission.

9. Payments and refunds

Prize pool payments are processed via our payment processor. Happr acts as a limited payment agent for Candidates in respect of prize payments. Platform subscription fees are billed in advance and are non-refundable except where required by law. Happr takes a commission on top-up prize pool amounts as published on the Pricing page.

If a Hirer fails to pay a prize within 14 days of winner selection, Happr will take reasonable steps to facilitate recovery but accepts no liability for Hirer non-payment.

10. AI-assisted features

The Platform uses AI tools to assist with CV parsing, candidate matching, task brief generation, and submission summarisation. These tools are assistive only — all final hiring decisions are made by human Hirers. For full details see our EU AI Act & GDPR Transparency Notice.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Happr shall not be liable for: (a) any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss; (b) loss of profits or revenue; (c) the acts or omissions of Hirers or Candidates; or (d) any prize pool dispute between a Hirer and a Candidate. Our aggregate liability for any claim shall not exceed the platform fees paid by you in the 3 months preceding the claim.

12. Disclaimers

The Platform is provided "as is". We do not warrant that the Platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. We do not guarantee that any task will result in a hire or that any Candidate will be selected.

13. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Lithuania. Any disputes shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Vilnius, Lithuania, except where mandatory consumer protection law in your country of residence requires otherwise.

EU residents may also use the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be notified by email to registered users and by a prominent notice on the Platform at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use after that date constitutes acceptance.
